Gema Trading started in 2012 when a group of young entrepreneurs saw that things could be done better: more honest, more transparent and faster. Since then, Gema Trading has grown into an international player in used trucks and trailers, where the stock is expanded every week with dozens of new vehicles.
On Friday, July 13, 2012, founders Marcel Lucas and Gert-Jan den Otter started Gema Trading to sell honest transport equipment from the Benelux region. Marcel had a garage for trucks, with its own terrain. Gert-Jan had knowledge of and experience in the trade, Marcel a lot of technical knowledge and good taste. Together they bought one trailer to sell. With the proceeds they were able to buy two more and that is how Gema Trading continued to grow into the international player in used trucks and trailers that it is today.
When Marcel and Gert-Jan both went their own way after 4 years, Gert-Jan moved to Dinteloord with Gema Trading. One day a lady walked in, friendly and somewhat awkward, asking if she could work at Gema Trading. Chris was the first employee of the company. She made the trucks ready for sale and is now seen as the mother of our company.
In Dinteloord we have our first cleaning hall, workshop and wash place where we clean and check the cars ourselves. With the growing stock and activities Gema Trading grew out of its jacket on the site in Dinteloord within 5 years.
For years now, all our trucks have been collected while driving by our ever-growing group of 65-plussers and hobby drivers.
Fortunately, we have found a new home in Oud Gastel. We have found a spacious location of 25,000 m2. Of that, 5,000 m2 is covered and we have also had our own car wash built there. We also have a workshop of 1,000 m2 where the goods are made ready for delivery and sale every day. The construction of our new office has also started in the meantime. Here, our team can receive satisfied customers every day and help them with honest, used trucks, tractors and trailers.
